Welcome to the Tech Side of Things Blog.

No way I was going to get The Internet of Things as my blog title, right?

My work is taking a turn to the tech side. I have been a chef/writer/blogger/recipe developer who dabbled in tech writing. Now I am becoming a tech writer who cooks. I don’t see breaking down a recipe and understanding the chemistry of that as so very different from breaking down anything else.

I am the person people come to to fix their computers, coach them on using said computers, on repairing a machine or simply explaining how things work. I wrote about tech for a food trade magazine. Then I wrote about equipment for another trade magazine. I wrote about simple, easy to use consumer products for another company. Then I built websites for a few organizations.

It strikes me that I really like to write about the tech side of things. I like to fix things, and I like to understand things. I am a bit of a nut about security and privacy issues, so that may well be a recurring theme here.

And then there’s my motto: How hard can it be? Yep, I am that confident. Well, mostly. Here’s my Oprah “this I know for sure”: what I don’t know? I can learn. And then I can teach it to you.

Pester me with questions, ideas for blog posts and more. The website is new, and I’m getting my name out there, so I really welcome this June Blogathon. Please stop and say hey.

Want to know what else interests me? Argentine Tango, Watercolor painting and cooking. Maybe I’ll be looking at the tech side of those things, too, this month.
